Every great tradition begins in a quiet workshop, where an idea is turned over by hand until it is worthy of the people it serves.
flagplaquewas built in the SkunkWorks — the small, tenacious workshop behind Augusta Country Club’s technology. The badger is our mark for good reason: relentless, precise, and fiercely loyal to the ground it defends. That same spirit went into this tribute.
The name comes from the folded flag itself. When a service member is laid to rest, the flag that draped their honor is folded thirteen times into a tri-cornered field of stars and presented to their family — a plaque of cloth, carrying a nation’s thanks. Augusta Country Club created this tribute so that the families within our membership who have carried that flag, and that weight, are seen and remembered.
“These are the folds of a promise: that the sacrifice of the few will be remembered by the many.”
Through our partnership with Folds of Honor— the foundation that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members and first responders — this project turns remembrance into something lasting. Each tribute submitted here honors a loved one who served, and stands alongside the mission Folds of Honor carries forward every day.
It was designed to be reverent, dignified, and simple — a place to pause, to name someone who served, and to say, on behalf of the entire Club: thank you.
